Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the City of Banyule in 2021 compared to Lower Plenty shows that there was a similar proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 33.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.3% were one-parent families, compared with 33.1% and 9.0% respectively for Lower Plenty.

There were a similar proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 24.3% compared to 24.4% in Lower Plenty while the proportion of couples without children was 25.1% compared to 28.9% in Lower Plenty.
