Analysis of the ancestry responses of the population in North West Precinct in 2021 shows that the top five ancestries nominated were:
- English (5,369 people or 28.0%)
- Australian (5,269 people or 27.5%)
- Italian (2,136 people or 11.1%)
- Irish (2,096 people or 10.9%)
- Chinese (1,647 people or 8.6%)
In combination these five ancestries account for 16,517 responses in total, or 86.21% of all responses.
The major differences between the ancestries of the population in North West Precinct and Australia were:
- A larger percentage of people with Italian ancestry (11.1% compared to 4.4%)
- A larger percentage of people with Greek ancestry (4.8% compared to 1.7%)
