Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Armidale Regional Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Education and Training (2,490 people or 19.5%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,909 people or 15.0%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (1,363 people or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 5,762 people in total or 45.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional NSW employed 9.2% in Education and Training; 16.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 5.1% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Armidale Regional Council area and Regional NSW were:
