Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Armadale in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (6,485 people or 14.6%)
- Retail Trade (4,264 people or 9.6%)
- Construction (4,092 people or 9.2%)
In combination, these three industries employed 14,841 people in total or 33.4% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Outer Metropolitan Growth Councils employed 13.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.8% in Retail Trade; and 10.2% in Construction.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Armadale and Outer Metropolitan Growth Councils were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (6.6% compared to 4.9%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in mining (5.8% compared to 7.0%)
