Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Albany in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,310 females or 26.6%)
  • Education and Training (1,185 females or 13.7%)
  • Retail Trade (1,156 females or 13.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,651 females in total or 53.6% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Robinson - Little Grove and District employed 23.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 14.9% in Education and Training; and 12.2% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Albany and Robinson - Little Grove and District were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (26.6% compared to 23.7%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (3.9% compared to 2.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (5.2% compared to 6.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in information media and telecommunications (0.6% compared to 1.9%)
