Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Albany in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (2,310 females or 26.6%)
- Education and Training (1,185 females or 13.7%)
- Retail Trade (1,156 females or 13.3%)
In combination, these three industries employed 4,651 females in total or 53.6% of the total employed female resident population.
In comparison, Bayonet Head employed 25.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.4% in Education and Training; and 16.1% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Albany and Bayonet Head were:
- A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (3.9% compared to 1.6%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (13.3% compared to 16.1%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed females in City of Albany increased by 905 between 2016 and 2021.
