Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Albany in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,310 females or 26.6%)
  • Education and Training (1,185 females or 13.7%)
  • Retail Trade (1,156 females or 13.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,651 females in total or 53.6% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Bayonet Head employed 25.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.4% in Education and Training; and 16.1% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Albany and Bayonet Head were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (3.9% compared to 1.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (13.3% compared to 16.1%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed females in City of Albany increased by 905 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the jobs held by the female resident population between 2016 and 2021 in the City of Albany were for those employed in:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (+633 females)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (+125 females)
