Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Adelaide Hills Council in 2021 compared to Aldgate shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 36.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 7.9% were one-parent families, compared with 43.0% and 8.5% respectively for Aldgate.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 18.6% compared to 13.3% in Aldgate while the proportion of couples without children was 31.6% compared to 33.3% in Aldgate.
