Analysis of the ancestry responses of the population in Wyong Shire in 2011 shows that the top five ancestries nominated were:

  • Australian (66,686 people or 44.5%)
  • English (62,529 people or 41.8%)
  • Irish (16,676 people or 11.1%)
  • Scottish (13,893 people or 9.3%)
  • German (4,630 people or 3.1%)

In combination these five ancestries account for 164,414 responses in total, or 109.80% of all responses.

The major differences between the ancestries of the population in Wyong Shire and Greater Sydney were:
