Location and boundaries

San Remo - Doyalson is bounded by Gosford Road, Wyee Road, Lake Macquarie City and generally by the locality of Mannering Park and Ruttleys Road in the north, Tall Timbers Road, the Pacific Highway, Saliena Avenue and Lake Munmorah in the east, Macleay Drive, Kalele Avenue, Woolana Avenue, Ulana Avenue, Scenic Drive, the Hammond Canal, Budgewoi Lake and Wallarah Creek in the south and Spring Creek and the railway line in the west.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the late 1800s. Significant development did not occur until the 1950s. Growth took place during the 1970s and 1980s. The population and dwelling stock increased substantially during the 1990s. Slower growth took place between 2001 and 2011 as fewer new dwellings were added to the area and dwelling occupancy rates increased.

Land use

San Remo - Doyalson is a residential, rural and industrial area. Most of the residential areas are located in the south, in the locality of San Remo. The area includes a large parcel of land owned by Delta Electricity.

Included areas

This small area includes the localities of Colongra, Doyalson, Doyalson North and San Remo, and a small part of the locality of Mannering Park.
