Lake Haven - Charmhaven (part) is bounded by Wallarah Creek in the north, Budgewoi Lake in the east, Goobarabah Avenue, Westbrook Parade, Shropshire Street, Glendale Street, Esther Close and the locality of Kanwal in the south and the Pacific Highway in the west.

Settlement history

Development of the area dates primarily from the post-war years. Rapid growth took place during the 1970s and 1980s. The population and housing stock increased substantially during the early 1990s, with growth slowing during the late 1990s. The population declined slightly between 2001 and 2006, and then was relatively stable between 2006 and 2011, a result of few new dwellings being added to the area and a decline in the average number of persons living in each dwelling.

Lake Haven - Charmhaven (part) is a residential area, with substantial commercial land use.

Major features of the area include Lake Haven Shopping Centre, Lake Haven Home Mega Centre, Charmhaven Shopping Centre, Lake Haven Library and Customer Services Centre, Gravity Youth Centre, Lake Haven Recreation Centre, Lake Haven Community Health Centre, the major bus interchange for the northern part of the Shire, Charmhaven Park, Hunter Park, Lake Haven Oval, Budgewoi Lake foreshore and Gorokan High School.
