Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Kingston in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (208 males or 20.8%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (110 males or 11.0%)
  • Manufacturing (91 males or 9.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 409 males in total or 40.9% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Werribee South - Cocoroc employed 20.6% in Construction; 8.8% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 6.8% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Kingston and Werribee South - Cocoroc were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (6.2% compared to 2.6%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in other services (6.2% compared to 3.4%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in manufacturing (9.1% compared to 6.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (1.1% compared to 17.4%)
