Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Epping in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (1,025 people or 15.9%)
  • Professionals (912 people or 14.2%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (869 people or 13.5%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 2,806 people in total or 43.5% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Whittlesea employed 14.7% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 18.7% in Professionals; and 13.9% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Epping and the City of Whittlesea were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Labourers (13.2% compared to 10.1%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (11.4% compared to 8.5%)
