Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Epping North in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,942 people or 16.8%)
  • Construction (1,782 people or 10.2%)
  • Retail Trade (1,747 people or 10.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 6,471 people in total or 36.9% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Whittlesea employed 15.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.4% in Construction; and 10.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Epping North and the City of Whittlesea were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (8.6% compared to 6.7%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (16.8% compared to 15.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in construction (10.2% compared to 11.4%)
