Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of South Morang in 2016 compared to City of Whittlesea shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a similar proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 23.0% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 11.5% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 21.4% and 11.7% respectively for City of Whittlesea.

The major differences between the age structure of South Morang and City of Whittlesea were:
