There were 230 people over the age of 85 living in Bundoora in 2016, with largest age group being 20 to 24 year olds.

Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of Bundoora in 2016 compared to City of Whittlesea shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 15.2% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 14.8% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 21.4% and 11.6% respectively for City of Whittlesea.

The major differences between the age structure of Bundoora and City of Whittlesea were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 20 to 24 (11.7% compared to 6.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 0 to 4 (5.4% compared to 8.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 5 to 9 (5.0% compared to 7.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 35 to 39 (6.0% compared to 7.9%)
