Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Whitehorse in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (27,848 people or 33.4%)
  • Managers (11,988 people or 14.4%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (10,730 people or 12.9%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 50,566 people in total or 60.7% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 26.8% in Professionals; 13.8% in Managers; and 12.9% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Whitehorse and Greater Melbourne were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Professionals (33.4% compared to 26.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (3.2% compared to 5.8%)
