Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of non-English speakers in the City of Whitehorse in 2021 compared to the total population in the City of Whitehorse shows that 92.4% were in households that owned at least one car, while 6.6% did not, compared with 92.1% and 4.8% respectively in the total population in the City of Whitehorse.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion owned just one car; a smaller proportion owned two cars; and a smaller proportion that owned three cars or more.

Overall, 34.3% of non-English speakers were in households that owned one car; 42.2% owned two cars; and 16.0% owned three cars or more, compared with 29.2%, 43.5% and 19.4% respectively for the total population in the City of Whitehorse.
