Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Burwood in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (849 people or 14.3%)
  • Retail Trade (695 people or 11.7%)
  • Education and Training (636 people or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,180 people in total or 36.8% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Whitehorse employed 14.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.6% in Retail Trade; and 10.3% in Education and Training.
