Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Blackburn in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,105 people or 14.7%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,084 people or 14.4%)
  • Education and Training (829 people or 11.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,018 people in total or 40.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Whitehorse employed 11.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 14.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 10.3% in Education and Training.
