Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Rural West in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (124 females or 21.2%)
  • Education and Training (91 females or 15.6%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (85 females or 14.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 300 females in total or 51.4% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Wagga Wagga City employed 28.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 15.5% in Education and Training; and 2.5% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Rural West and Wagga Wagga City were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (14.6% compared to 2.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (21.2% compared to 28.7%)
