Analysis of the household/family types in Rural East in 2021 compared to Wagga Wagga City shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 33.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 6.3% were one-parent families, compared with 27.9% and 11.2% respectively for Wagga Wagga City.
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 16.6% compared to 26.2% in Wagga Wagga City while the proportion of couples without children was 32.4% compared to 24.8% in Wagga Wagga City.
