In the City of Unley, 64% of households were purchasing or fully owned their home, 26.8% were renting privately, and 3.3% were in social housing in 2021.

The City of Unley's Housing Tenure data provides insights into its socio-economic status as well as the role it plays in the housing market. Dominant groups

Analysis of the housing tenure of households of the City of Unley in 2021 compared to Unley Park Ward shows that there was a smaller proportion of households who owned their dwelling; a smaller proportion purchasing their dwelling; and a larger proportion who were renters.

Overall, 35.5% of households owned their dwelling; 28.3% were purchasing, and 30.3% were renting, compared with 46.0%, 30.9% and 19.2% respectively for Unley Park Ward.
