Dominant groups

Analysis of individual income levels in Unley in 2021 compared to Greater Adelaide shows that there was a higher proportion of people earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a lower proportion of low income people (those earning less than $500 per week).

Overall, 23.0% of the population earned a high income, and 25.8% earned a low income, compared with 9.9% and 34.0% respectively for Greater Adelaide.

The major differences between Unley's individual incomes and Greater Adelaide's individual incomes were:

  • A larger percentage of persons who earned $3,500 or more (8.8% compared to 2.2%)
  • A larger percentage of persons who earned $2,000 - $2,999 (10.0% compared to 6.4%)
  • A larger percentage of persons who earned $3,000 - $3,499 (4.1% compared to 1.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons who earned $400 - $499 (5.8% compared to 8.7%)
