Welcome to Tweed Shire Community Profile

The Tweed Shire Estimated Resident Population for 2016 is 93,458, with a population density of 0.71 persons per hectare.

Tweed Shire is located in the north-east corner of New South Wales, about 860 kilometres north of the Sydney CBD and around 100 kilometres south of the Brisbane CBD.

The Tweed Shire Community Profile provides demographic analysis for the Shire and its suburbs based on results from the 2016, 2011, 2006, 2001, 1996 and 1991 Censuses of Population and Housing. The profile is updated with population estimates when the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) releases new figures.
