Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Gables in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (545 people or 31.1%)
- Managers (294 people or 16.8%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (288 people or 16.4%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,127 people in total or 64.3% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, The Hills Shire employed 32.5% in Professionals; 18.9% in Managers; and 15.0% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Gables and The Hills Shire were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (9.9% compared to 7.4%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (16.4% compared to 15.0%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Managers (16.8% compared to 18.9%)

- Community and Personal Service Workers (+172 persons)
