Dominant groups

Analysis of female individual income levels in The Hills Shire in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a higher proportion of females earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a similar proportion of low income females (those earning less than $500 per week).

Overall, 14.3% of the female population earned a high income, and 35.3% earned a low income, compared with 11.3% and 35.8% respectively for Greater Sydney.

The major differences between The Hills Shire's female individual incomes and Greater Sydney's female individual incomes were:

  • A larger percentage of females who earned $2,000 - $2,999 (9.4% compared to 7.0%)
  • A larger percentage of females who earned Negative Income/ Nil income (13.8% compared to 12.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of females who earned $400 - $499 (6.2% compared to 7.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of females who earned $300 - $399 (5.7% compared to 7.4%)
