Golden Grove - Gould Creek is bounded by the City of Playford in the north, One Tree Hill Road, Hannaford Hump Road and the locality of Upper Hermitage in the east, Seaview Road, the locality of Yatala Vale, Hancock Road, Golden Grove Road, The Grove Way, Surrey Farm Drive, The Golden Way, Helicon Drive, Elysium Drive and the suburb of Wynn Vale in the south and the suburb of Gulfview Heights, Cobbler Creek Recreation Park, Cobbler Creek, Slate Creek, Golden Grove Road, Para Valley Road and the locality of Greenwith in the west.
Golden Grove is named after a ship captained by Adam Robertson. Gould Creek is named for the creek which runs through the northern part of the area.

Settlement of the area dates from the late 1830s, with Golden Grove being one of the earliest areas of settlement in the City of Tea Tree Gully. Land was used mainly for farming and quarrying. Population was minimal until the 1850s, with expansion in the late 1800s. The Little Para Reservoir was constructed in the 1970s. Significant development did not occur until the mid 1980s, following the acquisition of land by the South Australian Land Commission and development of housing by Delfin in the Golden Grove area. Rapid growth took place during the 1990s, with the population more than trebling between 1991 and 2001. Growth continued between 2001 and 2011, but at a slower rate as fewer new dwellings were added to the area. Development in Golden Grove is nearing completion, with only small areas of land available for residential development.
Golden Grove - Gould Creek is a residential and rural area, with new residential areas in the south-west.
