Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in South Tamworth in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (412 people or 16.6%)
  • Manufacturing (326 people or 13.1%)
  • Retail Trade (311 people or 12.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,049 people in total or 42.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Tamworth Regional Council employed 17.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.6% in Manufacturing; and 10.0% in Retail Trade.
