Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Western Rural in 2016 compared to Tamworth Regional Council shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 34.3% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 7.6% were one-parent families, compared with 25.3% and 12.0% respectively for Tamworth Regional Council.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 18.5% compared to 25.5% in Tamworth Regional Council while the proportion of couples without children was 29.9% compared to 26.1% in Tamworth Regional Council.
