Dominant groups

Analysis of the types of dwellings for people reporting a need for assistance in the City of Sydney in 2021 shows that 5.6% of people with a need for assistance were in separate houses; 31.5% were medium density dwellings, and 62.1% were high density dwellings, compared with 68.7%, 18.4%, and 12.4% in the Greater Sydney respectively.

Emerging groups

The total number of people reporting a need for assistance in dwellings in the City of Sydney increased by 592 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the type of dwellings for people reporting a need for assistance in the City of Sydney between 2016 and 2021 were:
