Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Sutherland Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (30,922 people or 26.3%)
  • Managers (20,035 people or 17.1%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (18,267 people or 15.6%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 69,224 people in total or 58.9% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Sydney employed 29.3% in Professionals; 15.2% in Managers; and 13.8% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Sutherland Shire and Greater Sydney were:
