There were more professionals in Illawong in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Illawong in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (1,017 people or 27.4%)
  • Managers (656 people or 17.6%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (596 people or 16.0%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 2,269 people in total or 61.0% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Dolans Bay - Port Hacking employed 30.8% in Professionals; 20.1% in Managers; and 15.8% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Illawong and Dolans Bay - Port Hacking were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (13.0% compared to 11.0%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Labourers (5.1% compared to 3.4%)
