Welcome to Sunshine Coast Community Profile

The Sunshine Coast Estimated Resident Population for 2016 is 303,389, with a population density of 1.32 persons per hectare.

PLEASE NOTE: The information in this site has been adjusted to align with the new de-amalgamated LGA boundary that came into effect on 1st January 2014

The Sunshine Coast Council area is located in south-east Queensland, about 100 kilometres north of Brisbane.

The Sunshine Coast Community Profile provides demographic analysis for the City and its suburbs based on results from the 2016, 2011, 2006, 2001, 1996 and 1991 Censuses of Population and Housing. The profile is updated with population estimates when the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) releases new figures.
