In 2021, the largest age group in Windsor was 25 to 29 year olds. The group that changed the most since 2016 was 35 to 39 year olds, increasing by 84 people.

Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of Windsor in 2021 compared to the City of Stonnington shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 6.7% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 12.5% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 11.5% and 17.0% respectively for the City of Stonnington.

The major differences between the age structure of Windsor and the City of Stonnington were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (18.3% compared to 12.0%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 30 to 34 (15.8% compared to 10.7%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 35 to 39 (10.4% compared to 8.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 10 to 14 (2.1% compared to 4.0%)

From 2016 to 2021, Windsor's population increased by 224 people (3.5%). This represents an average annual population change of 0.68% per year over the period.
