Analysis of individual income levels in Inner West Council area in 2021 compared to SSROC region shows that there was a higher proportion of people earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a lower proportion of low income people (those earning less than $500 per week).
Overall, 25.6% of the population earned a high income, and 23.4% earned a low income, compared with 18.3% and 28.6% respectively for SSROC region.
The major differences between Inner West Council area's individual incomes and SSROC region's individual incomes were:
- A larger percentage of persons who earned $2,000 - $2,999 (12.9% compared to 9.8%)
- A larger percentage of persons who earned $3,500 or more (8.9% compared to 5.9%)
- A larger percentage of persons who earned $3,000 - $3,499 (3.8% compared to 2.7%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who earned Negative Income/ Nil income (7.2% compared to 9.7%)
