Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of South Perth in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,385 people or 14.7%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (2,956 people or 12.8%)
  • Education and Training (2,536 people or 11.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 8,877 people in total or 38.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Perth employed 14.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 7.8% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 8.8% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of South Perth and Greater Perth were:
