Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Nowra in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (682 people or 21.2%)
  • Retail Trade (375 people or 11.6%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (367 people or 11.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,424 people in total or 44.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Shoalhaven City employed 16.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.7% in Retail Trade; and 9.5% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Nowra and Shoalhaven City were:
