Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Greater Shepparton in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (5,206 people or 17.3%)
  • Retail Trade (2,908 people or 9.7%)
  • Manufacturing (2,815 people or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 10,929 people in total or 36.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional VIC employed 16.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.5% in Retail Trade; and 7.4% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Greater Shepparton and Regional VIC were:
