Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Salisbury in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Manufacturing (280 males or 15.7%)
  • Construction (235 males or 13.2%)
  • Retail Trade (173 males or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 688 males in total or 38.5% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Mawson Lakes employed 9.9% in Manufacturing; 11.1% in Construction; and 8.8% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Salisbury and Mawson Lakes were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in manufacturing (15.7% compared to 9.9%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (3.9% compared to 1.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in public administration and safety (4.8% compared to 11.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (3.0% compared to 7.9%)

The number of employed males in Salisbury increased by 210 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest change in the jobs held by the male resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Salisbury was for those employed in:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (+72 males)
