Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Salisbury in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (7,879 females or 26.9%)
  • Retail Trade (3,465 females or 11.8%)
  • Education and Training (2,997 females or 10.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 14,341 females in total or 48.9% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Mawson Lakes employed 25.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.8% in Retail Trade; and 11.9% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Salisbury and Mawson Lakes were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (11.8% compared to 9.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (3.8% compared to 6.5%)
