Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of non-English speakers in Rockhampton Regional Council in 2021 compared to the total population in Rockhampton Regional Council shows that 95.9% were in households that owned at least one car, while 2.9% did not, compared with 90.1% and 3.9% respectively in the total population in Rockhampton Regional Council.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion owned just one car; a larger proportion owned two cars; and a smaller proportion that owned three cars or more.

Overall, 27.7% of non-English speakers were in households that owned one car; 45.3% owned two cars; and 22.9% owned three cars or more, compared with 25.8%, 38.9% and 25.3% respectively for the total population in Rockhampton Regional Council.
