Dominant groups

Analysis of the housing tenure of low income households in Rockhampton Regional Council in 2021 compared to Regional QLD shows that there was a smaller proportion low income households who owned their dwelling; a smaller proportion purchasing their dwelling; and a larger proportion who were renters.

Overall, 47.7% of people in low income households were in fully owned dwellings; 8.6% had a mortgage, and 39.2% were renting, compared with 50.5%, 11.0% and 32.6% respectively for Regional QLD.
