Dominant groups

Analysis of the language spoken at home by children aged 0 to 4 years in Rockhampton Regional Council in 2021 compared to the total population in Rockhampton Regional Council shows that there was a larger proportion of people who spoke English only, and a similar proportion of those speaking a non-English language (either exclusively, or in addition to English).

Overall, 87.3% of children aged 0 to 4 years spoke English only, and 6.5% of% spoke a non-English language, compared with 86.1% and 6.5% respectively for the total population in Rockhampton Regional Council.
