Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the RDA Northern Territory in 2021 compared to Litchfield Council LGA shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 27.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.3% were one-parent families, compared with 29.2% and 7.7% respectively for Litchfield Council LGA.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 19.7% compared to 14.9% in Litchfield Council LGA while the proportion of couples without children was 20.2% compared to 23.5% in Litchfield Council LGA.
