Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in the RDA Limestone Coast Region compared to Regional SA shows that there was a lower proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 6.1% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 7.0% for Regional SA.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Limestone Coast region and Regional SA were:

  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 85 and over (41.7% compared to 45.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 65 to 69 (6.0% compared to 7.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (12.7% compared to 14.1%)
