- Health Care and Social Assistance (238 people or 11.3%)
- Education and Training (184 people or 8.8%)
In combination, these three industries employed 1,148 people in total or 54.7% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region employed 10.6% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 15.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.9% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Balonne Shire and the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region were:
