Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (15,788 females or 25.6%)
  • Education and Training (9,379 females or 15.2%)
  • Retail Trade (6,863 females or 11.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 32,030 females in total or 52.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Regional QLD employed 24.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.3% in Education and Training; and 11.6% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region and Regional QLD were:
