Dominant groups
Analysis of the families with children in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2021 compared to Regional QLD shows that there was a similar proportion of couples with young children, and a smaller proportion of couples with older children.
Overall, 14.0% of total households with children were couple with young children, and 6.7% were couples with older children, compared with 14.1% and 7.3% respectively for Regional QLD.
There were a similar proportion of single parent households with young children and a smaller proportion of single parent households with older children. Overall, the proportion of single parent households with young children was 4.6% compared to 4.5% in Regional QLD while the proportion of single parent households with older children was 4.3% compared to 4.8% in Regional QLD.
