Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of the households with recent arrivals in the City of Playford in 2021 compared to Greater Adelaide shows that 91.5% of recent arrivals were in households who owned at least one car and 7.0% were not, compared with 91.0% and 7.7% respectively in Greater Adelaide.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a smaller proportion who owned just one car, a larger proportion who owned two cars, and a larger proportion who owned three cars or more.

Overall, 33.0% of recent arrivals were in households who owned one car, 38.6% owned two cars, and 19.8% owned three cars or more, compared with 38.1%, 34.8% and 18.2% respectively for Greater Adelaide.
