Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of the households with recent arrivals in the City of Perth in 2021 compared to Greater Perth shows that 73.7% of recent arrivals were in households who owned at least one car and 25.2% were not, compared with 94.3% and 4.5% respectively in Greater Perth.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car, a smaller proportion who owned two cars, and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.

Overall, 59.9% of recent arrivals were in households who owned one car, 11.5% owned two cars, and 2.3% owned three cars or more, compared with 34.8%, 38.6% and 21.0% respectively for Greater Perth.
